a few words by steffen bennemann: i was in loose contact with aggelos (dream weapons) for a few years, watching him from a distant with great interest. in 2012, he sent me his debut lp on inner ear under his fantastikoi hxoi moniker and it quickly became my favourite album of the year. when i told him our plans for holger he sent me some of his more electronic leaning music. i was instantly captured by the driving, trippy kraut techno songs which show homage to the psychedelic sounds of the 60s and 70s while holding their own in the here and now. exactly our cup of tea.

paskal & urban absolutes are celebrating the release of their debut album lux (released in november 2013) with a big bash, encompassing a special remix package and with an illustrious group of liked minded peers. same as with their own work credo of cross-city collaborating (paskal aka alex lives in berlin, urban absolutes aka adrian lives in essen) the twosome assembled half of germany for the first, now available 12inch of the lux remixes.

second release of parallel pain records. here introduces new faces to label. the single, a mental techno slow-burner titled *radioactivity*, comes from the spanish artist psynth, a seriously deep work produced from this amazing artist. in addition we can find a remix by miki craven the spanish tresor (berlin) ambassador, who inject the original with a shock of jacking technoid. a really good bomb! ends this great release the talented dominants track, no lower one than the original, dominant does his best with a acid pumping remix full of dark shynthis.

mary was first inspired by her love for lofi and electronica music, but also by the international deep & minimal house scene. in recent years, she developed her own style and produced her music from a unique blend. here she presents the hidden poetry ep 12inch vinyl of the debut album and was subsequently allowed by jamie robson aka magic panda make a beautiful remix of the track mountain lake. with chestnut tree and rocket boi you go through somewhere between a deep and trippy journey.bonus track is forest haze.

following their acclaimed debut album, migration, on prins thomas internasjonal label in 2012, jamie paton and nigel hoyle (aka nigel of bermondsey) have seemed relatively quiet save for the odd remix here and there. tucked away deep in their south east london base though, a series of remixes and solo projects have been steadily forming. with new c&a material planned for 2014, plus more to come from jamies new solo efforts, as well as nigel making a long overdue reappearance in maurice & charles, now seems the right time to draw a line under their collective work to date. here then are a collection of unreleased interpretatons, including the sought after vocal remix of psychedlic darlings, in goats anthemic run to your mama. this is followed by a late night dub of 80s pop duo blancmange that mixes strings, guitar and some dub bass with a dose of space echo before bringing neil arthur s classicly recognisable refrain shining through. to finish is a remix of goats label mates teeth of the sea. fx-soundtrack vocal, bubbling 303 and 808 combine on a proper 3am dub that builds beyond some mere drug-chug.

this is the debut release from a bright hope lord of the isles on mule musiq released previously on great labels like firecracker, shevchenko. his unique music always mixes detroit house and alternative disco styles.

nach unserem geglueckten label-auftakt in 2013 wollen wir dieses jahr direktdaran anknuepfen. den anfang machen unsere residents der ersten stunde,kuriose naturale, mit ihrem debuet-release. die ep heisst >some might work< und laesst damit eine menge musikalischen interpretationsspielraum.der a1-track traegt den titel >madame psychosis< und hier ist der name dann auch gleich programm. durch seine duestere sound-aesthetik erzeugt das stueck eine einzigartige spannung ueber die gesamte track-laenge, die einen ganz sicher in ihren bann ziehen wird. weiter geht es auf der a-seite mit >up from here<, der deutlich groovebasierter daher kommt. getragen wird der track von kurzen aber doch eingaengigen vocals und einer hypnotischen synth-melodie, die einen fast schon an film-musik erinnert ohne dabei natürlich den fokus auf die tanzbarkeit zu verlieren. die b-seite beschäftigt sich dann ausschliesslich mit dem ep-titel >some mightwork< - angefangen mit dem gleichnamigen original, welches zunächst etwas vertraeumter daher kommt aber spaetestens ab der mitte des tracks seine clubtauglichkeit voll unter beweis stellt. den remix hierzu steuert kein geringer als kellerkind bei, der eine wunderbare oldschool-house interpretation angefertigt hat. durch die vocal-schnipsel aus dem original, die warmen chords und die voluminoese bassline fehlt es wirklich an nichts um auf jedem house-floor dieser welt bestehen zu koennen. wir freuen uns wirklich sehr mit diesem facettenreichen release ins neue jahr zu starten und hoffen sehr, dass ihr die freude teilt!

for over 12 months thomas feriero aka avatism, our friend and label partner, has been staying at home and working on his album. he moved to berlin to work on it and now sadly (for us) yet (gladly) for him he is moving back to milan. poof! just like that. so what did this year entail exactly? well for some of us not much. we got to see him in his studio comfy pants a couple of times (he wears slippers) we heard his studio woes, ate pasta with him, drank beers and of course got to hear his album at every juncture. while this self-imposed exile may have been a little worrisome the result is fortunately spectacular. adamant is a glimpse into how a city shapes a life and how intrinsically life then shapes music.

put simply, alexi delano and butane share a devotion to pure artistry that few in this industry are able to claim. both, over the breadth of expansive careers, have consistently chosen to forgo more commercial paths for wholesome, timeless, underground projects . after a chance meeting at an impromptu after-hours in brooklyn where they rocked a packed warehouse together well into sunday evening, the two decided to combine their talents in the recording studio, where they found an undeniable synergy. alexi, born in chile, raised in sweden and later adopted by new york, has been producing music for nearly 20 years. butane, born in the usa, dues paid in berlin, and currently calling new york home, has been djing professionally for 12 years and producing for almost 10. when 30+ years of experience comes together, one should take notice. here, the results are electric.

liverpools andy ash has been releasing finely crafted, authentic house music for a number of labels over the past few years, including appearances on stillove4music, kolour and quintessentials. here he joins steve bugs dessous imprint and drops some of his best work yet - four slices of deep and raw house grooves.

following up their releases on composite records and indigo raw, parham shafti & dominic plaza, aka the quantum mechanics, are back with their second installment on the relaunched unfokused music. here the duos mission to explain the unexplainable continues with two new outstanding cuts, release room and mind tricks. on the remix side, the mighty sasse and his partner in late night crime, the notorious james flavour (also known as one half of dirt crew) join in to show us their tricks. with their combined experience the two elegantly take on where the original leaves you and aim straight for a heart trick that resembles us of moody dancefloor moments from early 90s, modified to take place in a near future.

the past year for laurence blake aka citizen has been an ever-evolving rise to fame, with material on kerri chandler’s madtech and madhouse imprints, as well as highly praised singles for love fever and w&o street tracks. here laurence pushes on for whats set to be another amazing year for the artist, with a single for 2020vision, joining the likes of audiojack, fcl, huxley, crazy p and motor city drum ensemble on the roster.

here we have our second slice of plastic, this time three tracks with two original cuts from labels boss kike pravda and a stomping oscar mulero remix. oscar mulero revises amplitude, more uplifting, with a totally different perspective plus a little bit of acid.

teng returns with the *grand statement* ep by veteran techno producer, paul mac, backed with a rework from paul under his jorge zamacona, guise. teng records takes the step from fledgling imprint to fully-fledged label here, after marking a milestone with a full length for its tenth release. since launching the label has found affirmation in its intentions by picking up support from some key underground artists in the industry, such as christopher rau, tazz, azuni and deep space orchestra.

once again danse club records have unearthed a forgotten and sorely overlooked house track here, then they have enlisted a fine pair of contemporary producers -sqim and deepchild - to remix it and bring it right up to date. the original, whos dick is this is a 1994 kicking house bomb by the mysterious princess di, who released but three eps during the 90s on music station with this track being the pick of the bunch. german producer sqim is associated with labels like exploited and play it down and firstly offers up a ghetto mix of the track

bottin is back with his highly collectible artifact edits. this 12 is dedicated to lucio battisti (well known among disco heads for il veliero) - here bottin has reworked some lesser-known songs that take you on a horseback ride revealing the balearic side of the legendary italian songwriter. only 200 copies!

sect returns to the heart of the history once more. chicagos legacy is finally represented on the label by one of the finest producers of this city and sound, dj skull. words cant do justice to the legacy of this legend of house and techno music. for almost three decades skull has produced of some of the finest dancefloor tracks ever made, be it through saber (trax), djax, hybrid, majesty recordings, tresor, or many others. here the dark knight offers four very special cuts that reaffirm his legendary status. the title track combines the most up-to-date techno production techniques with the inimitable chicago jacking sound. *promise of peace* retrieves traditional house values on the mellower end of the musical scale, while *reboot* gets back to the straight-up techno, with some nicely understated acid elements, and finally *big girls* is informed by both reggae dub and forward thinking techno.

ron morelli returns to stare down the ‘floor with four pieces written during the stress-busting sessions for ‘spit’. the muggy, droning welt of ‘public consumption’ kicks off with the sound of new york techno shot from the hip, while ‘another hit’ vents a vintage era-regis style built on skull-chipping snares and effluent acid modulation. the album’s writhing batacuda banger, ‘crack microbes’ reappears here as an extra-ferric extended version, sustaining the hypnotic intensity for nine minutes of panic attack acid and febrile cowbells, while ‘’rushing again’ escorts us to a close with triplet techno shook down by railgun snares and a grotty synthline.
